My New Favorite Vlog: My Drunk Kitchen

22 May

Disclaimer: I don’t like the word “vlog.” I don’t even really like the word “blog,” which is why my personal blog uses the made-up word “logues.” However, this weekend I went to a food blogging conference, and I even attended a session on Vlogging, hosted by a couple of CNN producers-turned-food bloggers, including one who happens to play the Lady of the Refrigerator on Good Eats. (I was thisclose to asking for her autograph.)

At the same time, one of my besties shared a video with me and several other friends, accompanied by comments such as, “She’s invited to whatever we do next,” and, “She’s one of us … except for her haircut.” We don’t necessarily get wasted-face prior to pancake-flipping or at least an appetizer of maple-syrup-soaked bacon, but on the other hand, her mimosa recipe is pretty efficient. (Something tells me she can’t handle the complexity of bloody marys, though.) She’s like a hilarious wee young hipster version of Julia Child, and as her website says, she’s encouraging aspiring alcoholics everywhere. I’m really disappointed that my vlogging session wasn’t taught by her.

Enjoy… I’m off to watch “Omelette You Finish,” a headline that I will most likely steal at some point in the future.
